Hi there,

I just came across your site while searching for Chrome embossing powder. I'm told it exists but cannot find any.

I wondered if you know where I can buy it.

Many thanks.

Alan.

Hi Alan

Thanks for your inquiry. I have not heard of a particular embossing powder called 'chrome' and will throw it out to readers to comment if they know of any.

I was wondering if Stampin' Up!'s plain silver embossing powder would do the job? If you do not overheat it, it turns out to be as shiny as chrome? If you want it even shinier and thicker, apply a thin layer of Stampin' Up!'s Crystal Effects to your project after you have heat embossed it and allowed it to cool down, and allow the adhesive to dry completely before touching it. I have successfully glossed up many of my papercraft projects using this wonderful clear lacquer.

You can also use several layers of embossong powder to create a faux metal effect. I used this technique when making a faux metal motorbike image, for example.

It may help for you to publish a picture of the type of effect you are trying to achieve. Then some of us may have more specific suggestions for you.
