Hi Susan!
Really Cool site!! My husband and I were "re-getting married" (vow renewal) in April 2010 and I made tissue paper flower centerpieces for our tables. I made some big flowers, then cut the ends off in a rounded shape for the medium sized to put in paper cup vases.
The ends make great tiny flowers for sprinkling around the tables or on the wedding cake table for some added color, plus you're not wasting any of the tissue paper.
For the paper cup vases, I just wrapped coordinated tissue paper around the cup, turned it upside down and poked a hole through the bottom for the stem. If you have a handy husband like I do, you can actually drill the hole through the cup after you've wrapped it in the tissue paper.
I then used clear address labels and printed out labels for the flower vases to personalize them.
The supplies you need to make these are really inexpensive! You need tissue paper for the flowers and chenille stems (long pipe cleaners) for the stems. Some scissors, glue or tape and you're in business, ready to create your own cute and fun vases!
For wedding favors, I made custom bookmarks which I laminated and added tassels too.
Fun projects for all and a great money saver for wedding decorations and favors!
